WSOP Announces Extension Of Partnership With 888Poker
888 Extends WSOP Contract for 2 More Years
In the latest casino poker news, online poker brand 888Poker has announced the extension of its ongoing partnership with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for another two years. The deal will see 888Poker continuing to be WSOP’s exclusive online provider of qualifier satellites and dedicated poker promotions.
WSOP has worked alongside 888Poker for a long period now, providing players across the globe with the opportunity to earn seat at one of WSOP’s many tournament poker events. The World Series recently announced their new 2017 schedule, along with the news that their contract with 888Poker has been extended so that the online poker brand will be the company’s exclusive provider of promotions and qualifier satellites.
888Poker Enables Online Poker Players To Qualify for WSOP
Ty Stewart, WSOP’s Executive Director, has noted that his company is pleased to have renewed their ongoing agreement with 888Poker for what will now be the third year running. The current contract has now been extended by a further two years, and Stewart has stated that the two brands’ love of poker and mutual vision has resulted in a natural partnership.
In the near future, 888Poker will remain to be the only way that online poker players outside of the USA can qualify online. WSOP and 888 began their partnership in 2015, with the latter brand sending 128 qualified players to that year’s World Series of Poker. In 2016, the poker brand sent over 250 players to the series – over double the previous year’s number.
The players who earned themselves places during 888’s qualifying process last year included Fernando Pons and Griffin Benger, who both made it to the main event’s November Nine round later in the tournament.
888Poker To Serve As WSOP’s Exclusive Telecast Partner
The renewed deal will also see 888Poker being WSOP’s exclusive telecast partner. 888 Ambassador Kara Scott will serve as an anchor during the poker event’s ESPN coverage, along with names like Lon McEachern and Norman Chad.
Itai Pazner, the Senior Vice President and Head of B2C at 888 Holdings also commented on the extension of the deal. The extended partnership with WSOP, he noted, comes as a testament to 888Poker’s prolific position in the poker industry and its commitment to creating exciting and easily accessible poker opportunities for players on a global scale.
