Live Dealer Craps

If you have ever been in a live casino, the Craps table is usually the one with the most people around it all cheering for the person holding the dice. For Craps enthusiasts that don’t have the ability to gamble offline, live dealer Craps is the perfect alternative. As opposed to electronic casino games, live dealer games use real tables, real dice and real dealers. They offer all the benefits of a real casino with the convenience of an online casino. If you are keen to try your hand at live dealer Craps, this is how it works. While the game is played in the same way as the classic land-based casino version, there are one or two differences.

For obvious reasons, a player cannot be the shooter, which means the game has a dedicated shooter and a dealer controlling the table. The game can be played individually or with multiple players at the same table.

The Game Setup

A game of live dealer Craps consists of an electronic virtual betting table, a chat window and various game buttons, a video feed and an information window. The live video feed displays the real Craps table with the shooter standing at the far end and the dealer to the side of the table. To start the game, players can place bets by clicking on the virtual chips at the bottom of the screen and placing them on the respective betting areas on the virtual Craps table.

As with a standard game of Craps, players can choose to place any number of wagers including the pass line bet, don’t pass bet, come bet and don’t come bet. After each round a timer will appear indicating how much time is left before the betting should be complete. Once the betting session closes, the shooter will throw the dice down the table. The dealer will drag the dice into the view area where a dedicated camera will show a close-up image of the dice.

How it Compares to Real Craps?

During a live dealer Craps game, players can converse with the dealer as well as the other players around the table by typing messages into the chat window. The dealer can respond to the player’s questions by talking directly into the camera. After the dice has been thrown, the casino software will automatically determine if the player has a winning bet and will pay out accordingly. The shooter will then gather up the dice while the next round of betting begins. As you can see, live dealer Craps is incredibly similar to the real thing, expect that you don’t actually get to throw the dice. In all other ways, the game is the same, it offers the same bets, the same exciting casino atmosphere and ability to converse with other players.
