When it comes to the provision of online casino games, one of the most sought-after licenses for developers is a license to operate in Canada. Now, in a recent announcement, behemoth developer NYX Gaming has announced that it has been granted licenses to operate within several Canadian jurisdictions. The online gambling software supplier has been given the green light by several provincial regulators, allowing it to break into the lucrative Canadian iGaming market. NYX Gaming may now provide its products to players in British Columbia, Quebec and Nova Scotia, each with different terms and conditions attached.
In British Columbia, NYX will be registered as a Gaming Service Provider, providing its services to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. The local British Columbia Gaming Policy & Enforcement Branch, or GPEB granted the license. GPEB is the foremost regulator of all online and land-based gaming in the province, and aims to ensure that integrity is upheld when it comes to the companies, equipment, and software that work in the industry.
GPEB also enforces the policies of the British Columbia Gaming Control Act, which oversees all local lotteries, horse racing and licensed gaming activities. In Quebec, NYX Gaming has been labelled an Approved Gaming Supplier to the leader of the lotto industry, Loto-Quebec. The latter company is well known within the state, tending to all lottery activities and upholding industry standards for its employees and providers. Loto-Quebec also enforces strict protocols to ensure all players’ safety and satisfaction. Lastly, NYX’s gaming license in Nova Scotia sees the company registered as a Lottery Equipment provider.
This license was granted by the esteemed Nova Scotia Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco Authority under the local Gaming Control Act, and also adheres to regulations laid down by the Atlantic Lottery. The Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco Division has a crucial role in prompting the gambling industry to be socially responsible, promoting safe gaming and moderation advertising. By the same token, the division also ensures that the industry generates satisfactory profits, which are handed over to the provincial government to be added to the coffers and used for infrastructure and general social services.
CEO of NYX Gaming Group Matt Davey has voiced his company’s stance on their latest licensing agreements. Davey noted that the new licenses will further NYX’s long-term strategies by allowing them to operate at top levels on a regulated global scale. The approvals, Davey continued, will pave the way for NYX to expand their scope with casino and sportsbook services throughout Canada. He also mentioned that his company’s products are now the core focus of their operational model, and that they look forward to providing regulated, world-class content to the players of Canada in the future.
