IGT Brings eBingo to Ontario

Ontario Bingo fans will soon be enjoying premium titles from one of the world’s leading brands. International Game Technology (IGT) has concluded a partnership contract with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OGC) to offer its famous games to Ontario residents.

The e-Bingo titles are available at twelve OGC venues across the state. This forms part of an IGT/ OGC pilot programme before IGT expands into other Canadian territories.

Top Class Entertainment

As part of the OGC’s plan to offer players a diverse portfolio of game choices, the decision to include leading titles from IGT as part of a pilot project was made. The project offers both organizations the opportunity to test market response before expanding to other states and venues. However, IGT titles have always proven popular and are in large part responsible for the company’s excellent reputation. Players will be able to enjoy popular titles such as Bengal Eyes®, Golden Rooster® and Pharaoh's Legacy®.

IGT’s Regional Vice President for Canada has said that the launch of its e-Bingo products into the region is a growth opportunity for both the company and its clients. The e-Bingo portfolio compliments the company’s existing services in the region and success will lead to further expansion.

Spotlight on Gambling in Canada

Gambling is generally legal in all of Canada’s provinces and territories. Each province regulates its own gambling activities; therefore regulated games are different in each.

OLG is Ontario's government agency and conducts and manages the provinces gaming endeavours. It provides lottery services, online games, electronic bingo and charitable gaming. Electronic bingo will fall under the lottery mandate and therefor winnings are not subjected to any tax.

An Industry Leader

IGT also provides the purchase platform for the provinces iLottery. The company has been looking at the Canadian market as part of its expansion strategy and the pilot with Ontario is an excellent test. The company hopes to expand its products as well as its footprint in the coming months.

Their portfolio includes digital gaming, casino and social games, lottery services, and sports betting. The company focuses on offering both government and commercial end-to-end services and employs over 12000 industry experts. They also offer solutions in retail, web and mobile. It strives to the global leader in gaming innovation.

The company reported strong results in its Q3 report and noted new long-term contracts as a contributing factor. It looks set to reach its 2018 financial goals.
