Despite its unconventional exterior, the Grey Rock Casino in Edmunston looks the business on the inside. The eye catching, almost obtuse angles of the external architecture can be misleading as the inside of the venue features all the lavish trappings of a successful casino.
Most notable is the incredible ceiling lighting fixture on the slot floor, which exudes class and elegance. With so many Canadian casinos stickling to a design formula that works, it’s nice to see this venue break the mould a bit and attempt to create its own unique look. While the bright neon colours and shiny surfaces certainly fill the venue with glitz and glamour, it’s the small touches like the curved live table gaming section and the funky carpets that make this casino stand out.
When it comes to floor space the Grey Rock is not the best endowed, with a small but quality collection of tables and slots. If you are a native in the Edmundston area, this casino is worth a visit, but out of province visitors may not find the journey worth the effort, as there are better venues in Canada.
Grey Rock operates every day of the week, with the casino floor open between 10 am and 2 am. Bingo is still a massive draw at the Grey Rock. Best of all, a portion of the Bingo profits gets pumped back to the First Nation community, the Madawaska Maliseet who own the land that the Grey Rock is built on. Fridays from 4 pm the Bingo kicks off with the guaranteed CA$1000 Pot of Gold event. Sunday’s games start from 10 am, and there is a special $5 free play and $5 meal voucher promotion. There are few Bingo halls that can cater to your needs like the Grey Rock, anywhere in Canada. The beautiful hall sets a fantastic mood and the Bingo callers are all professionally trained to build excitement as well as help out patrons.
There are 180 slots games open for play at Grey Rock, all linked with the special Totem Rewards program. There are also two electronic gaming tables, one for Roulette and one for Blackjack.
